Michelle's Confidence Boost With Wigs
"I'm Michelle, I'm 33 years old and I've been wearing wigs exclusively for over a year. My hair loss is genetic and my crown has been thinning for over a decade. I've tried potions, diets, shampoos, and cover-up techniques. My self-esteem became so low I didn't want to leave the house or see anyone I knew. I had experimented with wigs for years but never was ready to commit. In November 2018 I bought a wig and shaved my head... No going back, I was forced to wear a wig daily. Best decision ever! My first few wigs were not the right ones for me, but I'll tell you even the wrong wig is better than feeling like everyone is staring at your bald spots! The first 6 to 12 months was a little expensive as I tried different wigs. I had to learn my color, my style, how to fit and modify wigs, and how to get used to wearing one daily. The hardest part was "coming out" to family, friends, and co-workers as it was incredibly obvious I suddenly had a full head of hair that kept changing every month. But I always remember thinking to myself, "hey as long as I look good and feel good, who cares what they think!"After a while, people get used to it, plus you meet new people who never have to know you ever suffered from hair loss. My favorite wigs are Gabor lace fronts, the off-the-face styling is super glamorous and the hairline on my favorite color Buttered Biscuit is darn near undetectable. I started with Timeless Beauty, fell in love with Opulence, and now I wear On Edge which is my favorite so far. I always look good now and I feel ten years younger. I get many looks and compliments and have had to deal with having a huge ego because I feel so liberated and more beautiful than I ever have in my life.A year of finding my way on my wig journey is a small sacrifice to never spend another day in public with my scalp showing through my hair! There is a big support network of wig wearers online and wigs are the new beauty accessory...Everyone is wearing fake hair. Break the stigma and change your life. You deserve to feel like a million bucks and the right wig is out there for you!"Michelle T.
