Long Mono Hairpiece by Jon Renau - $170.55
I've tried synthetic toppers from a couple large brands now, and none are anywhere near as natural and beautiful as this one. First of all, the thickness is just right, a nice light thickness that won't look big or wiggy but has just enough hair to look healthy and full. (This makes it so it's not super obvious when you go one day without topper, and one day with topper.) Next, the hairline on this one was very natural. The hair goes right up to the edge of the hairline so you don't have a strip of naked fabric showing against your own bio hair, which can be extremely visible on black hair. (My Amore and Tony of Beverly both had this problem). And lastly, I love how the body wave of this unit makes your hair look like it was just salon styled. (Which can be a negative if you don't want to draw people's attention to your hair) The only thing I would say negatively about this unit is that it's hair is a bit more tangly and plasticky than the Noriko, Amore ones. As a result, the hair doesn't last as long. and will require a bit of steaming to smooth it out every couple of months.
Almost invisible front hairline. Light natural thickness that doesn't draw peoples attention.
platicky hair fiber that can be a bit tangly.
Ok in my opinion
I ordered this piece to help cover thinning hair on the top. I was surprised that it had so much curl or body to the ends of the piece. I was expecting straight from top to bottom. It did have a good amount of hair, but I don't think it would work well if you need coverage in the bang area. It looks like it would need to be pushed back some to add volume. It's ok in my opinion, but I would rather it be straight hair from top to bottom.
This is the second Long Mono Hairpiece by Jon Renau I have purchased. I love this piece. The quality of the hair fiber is soft and natural. The way it is attached to the base makes it very versatile for parting different ways. Because the wide is wide enough it lays nicely on your head as well and doesn't look like something plunked on your head. I purchased my last one almost 2 years ago and I still use it, still looks like new. The only reason I purchased this one is because the color of the last one wasn't just right. I needed a darker piece. This color is perfect. I got Expresso this time. For those wondering this translates into a #4 on the color chart. I wish people would use the number system rather than those vague terms and that is the only thing I would change about Jon Renau. To determine my color I just chatted online with Voguewigs and they helped me pick the correct color. Thanks Voguewigs!
