Lana Monofilament Human Hair Wig by Revlon - $449.95
Good for the money..hard to wash - style
I wish I had reviewed my other wig before I got washing and styling. I will say expect to spend a lot of time on it. They are divas. Lana is a great bang for the buck...i considered the lace front version until i realized how small it was (reviews were bad) so if you ask me either one will do. lace front is probably best when it's done really well like on higher end wigs. This wig has a ton of hair which is a big pro and it's long but talk about tangling. even if you use the most gentle shampoo and what is recommended and wash that way, it's still time consuming. giant knotted mess and looked like cousin It until hours of taming. and be gentle...it will shed easily. that's why it's so time consuming because i'm super careful while it's knotted. I used detanglers etc and I think the human hair is pretty processed or something. and i MUST use a conditioner on it. i just try to stay away from the cap. I recommend using something called 'hair fluid' on the ends. it's made for hair extensions and does help out with adding luster back...never get it too close to the base and maybe use something called 'knot my problem' to help with protecting the sealed knots before washing - put it on the meshed parts..truly helps limit shedding. i must use a tiny bit of hairspray to get my style to stay put. (bangs out of my face so i can see) i really wait awhile before washing again b/c of this. otherwise the wig looks real, it's pretty..i got it in brown spice. no one can tell it's a wig. but it's pain in the rear to wash.
Price, lots of hair for the money
washing this hair, knots up badly and I spend hours 'gently' combing out knots and fixing it. hours.
Natural and versatile
This is the 2nd time I've purchased this wig for my daughter who has alopecia. She finds it very natural and versatile which is important for a teenager. It is a modern style which looks lovely when straightened or curled. There isn't that many wigs around without a fringe (bangs) so with the longer front fringe there is opportunity to slightly shorten or shaped so suit face shape.
Lovely long style
I ordered this in Hazel Brown, which is really a dark blonde and a very natural looking color. It has subtle highlites. When I first took it out of the box, the highlites looked a little "piano key" but upon washing, they blended in beautifully. This is a lot of hair, but very soft and enjoyable. I styled with with hot rollers followed by curling iron and it looked great! I didn't want to take it off. My head is a bit big and I had to cut some of the pull tabs away so the wig would strech enuf. This worked and so it is no longer a problem.
Pretty wig, but spring for the lacefront
Lana right out of the box is a very pretty wig. I got the color Brown Spice, which is equal to Ginger Brown in the Rene of Paris line. In fact, this wig is cut just like Brandi from Amore, and as such it has the same problem Brandi has - the hair wants to flop into your face instead of moving back away from it. In hindsight I wish I'd spring the extra cash for the lacefront version of Lana to combat this problem. I did find that when you wash Lana the hair is going to get very wavy and full so be ready to style it after washing. I wore this during the heat of summer and it stayed relatively cool - it's still a lot of thick hair so it's not the ideal summer wig, but it was definitely cooler than a long synthetic would be. The cap runs a little small and the double monofilament top is quite nice. I found it comfy to wear all day. I don't think this is the most high-quality human hair and the lower price reflects this, but it was my first human hair wig and for a first venture in human hair I think it's a nice wig.
Looks great right out of the box - pre-styled nicely
So awesome...I bought TWO!
The Lana is a great wig for the money. I have it in two colors (blonde and red) and it's absolutely wonderful! Be forewarned when you wash it the hair becomes very curly and poofy! Once I began using a shampoo and conditioner for curls, however, they smoothed over and now are lovely glossy waves. The monotop is nice and large so you really have a variety of ways you can part it. It's easy to curl, straighten, and style. People are shocked when I tell them I wear a wig, they have no idea!
One of my favorites!
I'm always a little nervous about getting wigs online because I can't really tell the quality, but it had so many good reviews, I decided to go for it. I just got it today and put it on. The shape is great for my oval face, and I love the layers--I can tell people I just got extensions (I may end up cutting it--long wigs tend to tangle)....the monotop is nice, but it's a little hard to part right down the middle, however it makes a beautiful deep side part, which is my favorite kind. I would have liked the color to be darker--I chose dark chocolate. It's very close to my natural color, but my previous piece was almost black with bangs, so it's just a change. The thickness is just right--anything too thick I think looks fake. This is very realistic, which is very important to me. I don't like attention when it comes to people asking me about my hair, as I am very self-conscious about my alopecia. I am 27 and it developed during adolescence. I didn't start wearing wigs until I was 19 or so. Thank you Vogue Wigs, I will be back to buy more!
i have a large round head, this one doesnt say what head shapes work for this wig?
My usual hair color is a 1b/27 in two tone
Im fine with a full 27
Which color is close to that ?
is the cap full monofilament? I am having such problems with wigs that show their cap construction at the top when wearing them. i am after the most natural look possible when the wind blows etc. Help!
