Great alternative to Forever Young's "Twirl It"
March 16, 2014
Color: 4F27 (Dark brown with vary sparse frost highlights of dark blond; I call it "dark chocolate and caramel". Would like to go lighter for summer.)
If you like "Twirl It" by Forever Young, you will definitely enjoy Judith. Judith is fuller and longer, but unlike "Twirl It", she actually has bangs. I wish I'd known this before. I've been wearing "Twirl It" for years, but when wig shopping season came around recently, it was out of stock. Best disappointment ever. Every time I ordered "Twirl It", I had to cut bangs to cover the hairline. Judith takes this step out, which is good for someone like me who isn't good at cutting paper, much less hair.
Judith may be full and longer, but she breathes well. I'm not a cosmetologist, so I can't speak with expertise, only experience. If you still like the fuller cuts and longer tresses even in the summer, braid your own hair. If you already have thick hair, you will roast under these wigs. But I braid my hair into four sections and then use a scrunchi to bring them together Princess Leia style. These are not tight braids, nor is the binding. But it avoids having to put on a wig cap and the Judith wig fits better without one. I tried it with a cap and the slippage was worrisome. Without a nylon cap, you don't even need bobby pins. The adjusters are perfect, giving a snug fit.
Wig fullness: Fabulously full. Nearly "fro" full
Length: Between shoulder blades. Curls will fall the longer you wear it.
Matting: Grr, this is why I can't give it five stars. If you are looking for everyday wear, this may not be the wig for you. It looks GORGEOUS pinned back in a ponytail, but it mats underneath (out of view) after only a dozen or so wears. This category is the only place Judith loses to Twirl It, and I think it's only because Judith is longer, ergo it rubs more against your clothing than your neck.
Despite the matting issue, I would only go back to Twirl It if Judith were out of stock and I was desperate. When it's back in a ponytail--which looks elegant--it truly looks real. The wild, spirally tresses all about give it an authentic, natural look.
Should try it at least once, and if it's too full, just have someone layer it for you...OR pull it back into a beautiful ponytail or updo. Yes, this wig is just that full, so full you can get multiple, natural looks out of it.
