Embrace Synthetic Wig by Raquel Welch - $141.95
This is the first wig I've ever owned. I was nervous about it I got to say. I found the ordering process to be very easy and I got my wig super fast in the mail. The packaging was very nice and the wig came out of the box ready to wear. I've worn it to interviews and it looks very natural. My husband likes it too so bonus. It's everything the picture shows it would be. The curls are naturally bouncy and there are straps in the back to tighten it down. I have very long natural hair so the only bummer is I wish this were not a one size fits all because I have a hard time fitting all my hair in under the wig.
It fooled my mother!
I love my new wig! I couldn't believe how real it looked. I put it on right before my mother came over. The first thing she said was, "Oh you've grown your hair out. It looks great." Then I pulled the wig off and she was so surprised. I have "baby fine" hair and this was my first wig. I was pleasantly surprised! The quality is great, it looks real, not too thick, and it matched my real hair very well. I'm including a few photos. The other photos really helped me to decide, so thanks to all the other ladies who posted their photos. Please keep in mind my photos are of the wig straight out of the box. I did not do any styling to the wig so of course it doesn't look anything like Raquel's professionally styled wig, but considering that, I think it looks pretty good! In the third photo where I'm pulling the hair up, I wanted to demonstrate how real it looked. Next I just need to get the courage to wear the wig in public.
Looks natural and love the pretty color
I bought RL29/25 and it's a beautiful mix of strawberry blonde and blonde. The highlighted wispy areas around the face help make it look like real hair. Although it seemed a bit flat when I first took it out of the box, after a bit of combing and lightly moving the wispy pieces up just a bit, it looked very natural. I was not able to get the same curly look at pictured above on Raquel, and I found the "out of the box" style a bit too flippy for me (See the second picture below). I had the flippy ends trimmed in the back, and trimmed the bangs a bit and I'm very pleased.
Beautiful color, nice wispy highlights around the face, and love being able to use a curling iron on it.
Not as pictured, but can be styled and trimmed.
Flattering and Stylish
I wore this wig for 3 years before switching to a slightly shorter style and I felt attractive in this style. The quality and volume are good, and the red shades are stunning! I will probably return to this style since my current style has been discontinued. I would love to see this offered with the lace front.
Easy to pop on my head, fluff and go. Flattering for square face shape.
Even though it is supposed to be heat resistant, the ends still frizz after only a couple of months from body heat at which point it no longer looks like real hair. I wish the heat-resistance could be improved.
It fits perfectly and makes me look younger, I give it 5 stars.
My favorite wig
Hands down this is my favorite wig of the six I currently own. No, I don't style it like Raquel's professional stylists. But I don't have to. I just give it a shake right out of the box and in moments I have soft, stylish waves and--a really good hair day! The color (Honey Ginger) exactly matches my own--in fact, in the picture I attach here some of the curl in the bangs you see is actually my bangs (by my right eye). Because the wig color exactly matches my own hair, I pull some of my (too curly) bangs forward to make the wig look more natural. I also pull some of my own hair out of the wig in front of my ears so that I can pull my hair (and wig hair) behind my ears like people naturally do without exposing the edge of the wig. This wig is soft and natural and so full, but not so full that you get that wiggy look. One thing I really like is that the cap is generously sized. Many "average" size wigs I have to enlarge with elastic and even then, to get the fit right I have to use wig glue. But all I had to do to Embrace is sew in four wig clips. I don't use any pins or glue to secure it, which means getting ready for work in the morning is fast. I love this wig.
Soft, natural waves. Generously sized cap.
Golden Wheat Rooted SS1488 ~ Nice Length ~ Not too much hair ~ Fiber feels a little funny
The photo shown here does not look like the wig I purchased. Of course, it is styled, etc. The shoulder length is nice, the weight is good, the color SS1488 is heavily "rooted" with a very dark brown color. I don't care for the rooted colors as they can be so dark, it doesn't look good. Even though the top of this wig has permatease, it's not over done. I would suggest, if possible, pulling a little of your own hair/bangs to show in the front and make this wig completely believable. This is a very nice wig. I don't care for the feel of the fiber at all when you first get it, but after washing, conditioning, etc., it may feel better. The cap is average, a little snug on me. My head measured correctly is 22.5 inches. On the large side of average. This cap, even with the straps let out, is still snug and slips back.
Loved this wig, but...........
I adored this wig so much when I first got it, I immediately got on line and ordered two more. However, in just a couple of weeks it started losing its luster and became matted, (like it had been burned). I could not get a very wide toothed pick through it. It had never been washed or around heat or steam, and never styled with any kind of heat. I keep cutting the ends, however, the entire wig is pretty much like straw now. I started wearing the second one today. Hope it will last longer. Any ideas why the first one did not last?
It is gorgeous, has body, and is very comfortable.
My first one only lasted a couple of weeks.
Great wig. Great customer service.
This wig looks like real hair.
My current color is RS29, it is a sort of 3/tone color. Does that match up to one of the RW colors?
Yes the colors above for the item Embrace Synthetic Wig by Raquel Welch will be the same color code selections.
